When I was a little boy, I grew up in Cheshire, CT; and I remember a parade we held in town, for Barney Barnum, a real hero that lived in my town. I will always remember that special day, as we were so proud of Mr. Barnum!
I recently found a video about him which recognizes his achievement and the influences on his life.
Mr. Barnum, served in the Vietnam conflict, which was a very controversial war, and unlike today, many of the servicemen who returned from Vietnam were ill treated and showed no respect. Thank goodness, times have changed and most Americans support our men and women in the military.
Thank you Mr. Barnum for what you did and making this young man from Cheshire, CT; so proud!
